The Yanmar 4JH5E is a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated marine diesel from Yanmar's JH series, rated 39.6 kW (53.8 mhp) at 3000 rpm at the crankshaft (38.0 kW / 51.7 mhp at the propeller shaft) from 2.190 L (88 x 90 mm bore x stroke). It uses mechanical direct injection, freshwater cooling via heat exchanger, a 12V 1.4 kW starter and mechanical controls. It is offered with KM35P, KM35A2, KM4A1 or ZF30M marine gears or a saildrive, and is RCD and EPA Tier 2 certified. Dry weight 201 kg without gear (213 kg with KM35P); dimensions given with KM35A gear. Succeeded by the common rail 4JH45/4JH57.
