Welcome to Boat DB, a community-driven knowledge base for marine equipment maintenance. By using this website, you agree to the following terms of use:
1. Purpose
The goal of this project is to create a public and open database of marine equipment, including engines, generators, and related maintenance items or schedules.

All content contributed to Boat DB is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License (CC BY-SA 4.0).
This means you are free to use, adapt, and redistribute the content — even commercially — as long as you provide proper attribution and share any derived work under the same license.
3. User Contributions
Users may contribute content after registering an account and verifying their email address. By contributing, you agree to:
- • Only submit factual, non-sensitive, and non-copyrighted material
- • Respect the open and collaborative nature of the project
- • Acknowledge that your edits may be reviewed, reverted, or restricted
Moderation tools (including content locking) may be introduced in the future to protect data integrity.
4. APIs and Access
Boat DB may provide API access to its content. Usage may be subject to rate limits or other access restrictions. Commercial use of the API may require a separate agreement or subscription.
5. Liability Disclaimer
Boat DB provides all content "as is" with no warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any data published on this site. Use of any information is at your own risk. Always refer to your equipment manufacturer’s official documentation before performing maintenance.
6. Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts within the EU.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be noted on the website. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
