The Volvo Penta D2-40 is a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated marine diesel of 1.51 L (77 x 81 mm bore x stroke), rated 29.1 kW (39.6 hp) at the crankshaft and 27.9 kW (38.0 hp) at the propeller shaft (ISO 8665), at 2800-3200 rpm. Compression ratio 23.5:1, freshwater cooling, 14 V / 115 A alternator, 2.0 kW starter. Dry weight 148 kg. Offered with the MS15 reverse gear (2.14:1 or 2.63:1) or the 130S/130SR sailboat drive (2.19:1). Engine oil 6.5 L (incl. filter), changed every 500 h or 12 months.
